Coy Kayla

Good morning all.

Hope everyone is having/going to have a fabulous day. It's still cold and dull here so hopefully the snow won't be coming - however, it's still only the beginning of the week. My kids are hoping it will snow but for very different reasons - James is hoping it will snow so much he doesn't have to go to school and Phoebe so she can go out and play in it.

So, onto today's card which I made for SOME ODD GIRL CHALLENGE...............

.............. it's a photo inspiration with cupcakes - mmmmmmm. I used one of my SOG images which has not seen the light yet hehe and I like how this turned out. Love the colour combo too.

MATERIALS USED

Coy Kayla from Some Odd Girl
printed onto MIC cardstock
White and red cardstock
DP: me and my BIG idea
Stampendous "chunky alphabet" stamps
K & Co rub-on (stitches)

Well, thank you for dropping by and have a super day. Hugs, Mette

Winter Darby

Good morning all.

My camp is again peaceful and quiet. Ben has gone back to Uni with a "I'll be Back" salute and my kids have gone to school. This is the time when I catch up on housework, a little DT work and blog surfing. Somehow the house always ends up looking as if WW2 took a detour through here lol.

So we have been told to expect extreme cold and possibly snow here and what would be more appropriate than a wintery card ..................

............... I made this to fit with the challenge at ALL THAT SCRAP - blues, tan and brown. I certainly hope I have hit the theme and I rather like this combo for a wintery card. This will go into my "christmas cards" box :).

MATERIALS USED

Darby Winter @ ATS
White cardstock
DP paper (don't know make)

King of the Wild Things

Good morning all.

You know the thing when you are trying to get your washing done and preferably dried outside in between raint days .............. well, yesterday was such a day. I don't like my washing drying inside (gets all stiff) so I always keep an eye on the weather lol. Luckily I managed to get most of it done yesterday knowing that we are in for some yuk weather.

Ben came home again yesterday evening :) - I love having him here and he admits that, although he loves univesity life, he still misses home. It was his birthday on Thursday and it felt strange him not being here. We will have a little celebration tonight - he wants curry and cake hehe.

Well enough of my silly ramblings - here is today's card .............

................. isn't he great?! I love his costume - my neighbour's son has a Gruffalo costume. I followed the colour challenge over at TIDDLY INK CHALLENGES and will keep this card for the right person :). I know this is a Stamping Bella stamp but I am sure he sprang from Christy's imagination.

Good morning all.

THE SUN IS SHINING :) but unfortunately it looks like it will get freezing again soon. I am definately ready for spring - not that this winter has been bad, just damp, grey and miserable lol. Need some colour into my life (a good job we have this wonderful hobby).

Today is Friday and that means another DILLY BEAN FRIDAY CHALLENGE. This week the theme is "Freaked" hehe - you can interpret this however you like but I came up with this ...................

And why not take a trip over to the CHALLENGE BLOG and take a look at the fabulous DT ladies samples - these girls are showing some freaky work hehe. While you are there you may as well join in the challenge. Hope you will join us.

Dilly Bean Challenge - Have the Blues

My second post today but .......
as it's Friday it means another challenge from DILLY BEAN CHALLENGES. This week's we "Have the Blues" lol - January always seems so long and dull and ................ I am sure we all just wait with excitement for spring now.

I had a little disaster with this as I have just realised I sent Megan the wrong image lol. Advancing age and the brain seem to work together to cause as much confusion for me as possible. I have just sent her the correct image and I have also posted it here ................

............... so why don't you hop on over to the challenge blog and have a look at the talented DT ladies inspirational projects. And while you are there you might as well cheer yourself up and join in the challenge. Megan has a lot of funky and fab images HERE and there are her new collage sheets to pick from.

As for me - I still have 10 thank you cards to make before Monday so ........ I AM OUT OF HERE.

Tuddles, Mette

Angie

Good morning all.

Well, it's damp and grey here today. Not a very nice day at all but atleast it's on the mild side. Tomorrow we have Phoebe's party to be held at the local play center - omg! they charge a lot for a 2 hour session. I am just forunate she didn't want to invite the entire class hehe. That would have been a small fortune.
One of the mums at school is kindly making the cake - a princess with a huge crinoline. She bakes all the cakes etc for the school's events. She said she would do it for the cost but that hardly seems fair.

Which bring's me onto today's card ..................

................. a little card to say Thank you. In my opinion you can never have too many Thank you cards. It's just thoughtful to thank someone for all their kindness. Which remind's me, I have to do 10 for Phoebe's friends before Monday - so what am I doing here, far to busy to be surfing today lol. Just need to enter this into KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS CHALLENGE. Anna Kristine Hatter - Blues and Creams challenge

Good morning all.

Sorry I am a little late but it's Phoebe's birthday today and it's been rather crazy this morning. I had to wake her up so she was in a grump and it seemed at first that she was NOT happy with her present (a pink CD player and Disney CDs). However, once she woke up we had to listen to all her favorite and I am sure it'll grow on her lol.

So, today is a new challenge over at LITTLE MISS MUFFET and this forthnight we would like you to use Blues and Creams. You think that's difficult? - not at all. The combination makes wonderful projects - just head over to the blog and check out the fabulous DT ladies creations. And Barbara is back from her terrible ordeal with pneumonia and a hospital stay.
This is my take on the challenge .....................

............. I have used the funky Anne Kristine Hatter which is available from LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS. The papers are from Fancy Pants (blue) and Making Memories (cream) and I have decorated with tiny buttons. The sentiment is from Polkadoodles and has been heat embossed.

Thank you for dropping by today and don't forget to join our fabulous challenge. Hugs, Mette

Eric

Good afternoon all.

Having one of those days where you wish you had stayed in bed , not opened the curtains and written the day off as scrap.
Managed to get to my fysio treatment ok and have now been signed of although with the option of going back within a month should the symptoms get worse. Did my shopping and got Phoebe an expensive hair-brush "Tangle" Teezer which apparently is the best for long, tangled hair.
But my printer is playing up which is not good for a crafter who uses digital images on a daily basis. The printer goes through the motion of printing but nothing appears on the paper. And before you ask - the indicator says the ink level is more than half-full. So I am going grrrrrr and stamping my feet which doesn't help one bit. Maybe I should un-install and re-install and see what happens - or even try a new cartridge. I really DON'T wanna buy a new printer.

Right, I had better show you today's card ....................

.................... made this for my son who will be 19 next week. It's sometimes a little difficult finding the right image unless they are into playing sports (and haven't seen one for athletics) but I like this one. I am also entering this into TICLKED PINK CHALLENGE "Anything goes".

Uptown Girls do coffee

!!!!WARNING - SUNGLASSES REQUIRED!!!!

Good morning all.

There really isn't anything new to keep you entertained this morning. It's still freezing, Ben went back to Uni after spending the weekend here and I am still busy with housework (no, I don't live in a mansion hehe) and relaxing with my DT work.

I do get time to play with my other stamps and I just ADORE Stamping Bella. Have you seen her new release! - there are some cute lil' girls. Anyho, I thought I would play along in the Bellariffic challenge for the first time ...............

Hope you are all staying warm today. Still freezing here but it's a lovely sunny day. Have a very busy day planned with housework and some DT work so this isn't going to be a long post.

I really just wanted to post this card ..................

............. using one of Krista's fabulous image. They are all available HERE. I made this card for the CAS challenge over at Saturated Canary CHallenge blog and it will make a super card for some little girl :). Bird's Nest

Good morning all.

After having had a mild winter till now it's definately decided to change. It's freezing lol and I am so not prepared for it lol. Good job we are heading towards spring - oh, I can't wait. We are gonna get colour back into our grey and dull world :).

I have a fair amount of birthday cards to prepare for the next few months. I have had to write a list of everyone and decide what images are best suited for everyone. Not an easy task I tell you and the men are the worst lol. I am totally stumped for an image for my dad - he likes to go hunting (grrrr) so I am on a little detective surfing to find something that fits. Little girls are so easy lol.

This card will be sent to my (ex) mother-in-law. I think she will love this .......

................... is a kind and soft image from A Day for Daisies. Will suit my MIL perfectly. It would also be perfect for my little princess - this is what her hair looks like every morning and it's a battle to brush it. I am not allowed to cut her hair - "I want hair like Rapunzel" - but it is not pleasant to brush all the knots. But I do love this image :).

Teen Fairy Pia and a confession

Good morning all.

Brrrrr - it's really cold now. Contemplating putting gloves on but that would be rather silly. It hard to type and colour with them on lol.

I have a little confession to make. I am rather ashamed to say that the penny hasn't dropped before now. For a while now I have not been happy with the way my colouring is looking - erm, did I hear a astonished gasp hehe. No honestly, I wasn't sure why and then I began thinking that maybe it was the cardstock that I used. I have been using a rather affordable paper but have been reading on other blogs different papers that you all use. Yup, I have been officially slapped around the face with a wet kipper and yesterday I received a few MAKE IT COLORFUL sheets of cardstock. DOH!! - it took me this long to wake up!? I am officially converted so no more "make-do" with second best.

Right, enough rambling about me so now onto my card for today .............

....................... I have used one of Mo's gorgeous images - yup, another image I have never used - shame on me. Isn't she stunning and I love her facial expression lol. It took me a long time as I just couldn't get the lay-out of the card right but I think it looks ok now.

Dilly Bean Friday Challenge - Frosty

Good morning all.

Well, it has definately turned cold here overnight and frosty. So it's the perfect time to announce the new challenge at DILLY BEANS FRIDAY CHALLENGES which this week is "Frosty". Yup, we are still in a winter mood and what better way to get started on this year's christmas cards than using on of the fabulous images from SILLY DILLY BEANS.
This is also the perfect opportunity to introduce you to Megan's brand new coloured collage sheets which you can find HERE. They are just perfect for last minute makes or if you don't feel like colouring.

So this is my make for our Frosty challenge. I made these before christmas to go on presents for the kids. I think these gorgeous snowmen are just perfect for both cards and tags.

Why don't you pop over to the chellenge BLOG and check out the fabulously talented DT teams project and you might just get inspired to play along with us this week.

Thank you for dropping by and hope you have a fabulous day. Hugs, Mette

Little Miss Muffet Challenge + DT News

Good morning all.

Well, today is my first DT post for Little Miss Muffet and what better way to start than with a mid-challenge inspiration. The challenge runs for 2 weeks so you still have a week to enter.
This fortnight it's "Anything goes" and you can use any image. But remember, if you use one of Little Miss Muffet's image it's Anything goes all the time.

For my project I decided to make a little tag to go on the treat bags I am making for my daughter to give to her friends at her birthday party. So each child get's a sweet-filled cellophane bag with their own personal tag.

I have used Monster Sweet-tooth available HERE. I think he's great and good for both boys and girls.

Here is my card for today .....................

Elaine

Good morning all.

I don't know about you but I am about ready for spring. Not that we have had a horribly cold and snowy winter - far from it, but I love spring when everything comes alive again and you even feel a lot younger inside :). Mind you, I love all 4 seasons as they all have their own charm, colour and celebrations.

I mentioned yesterday that my mum will be 70 and I made this card for her .............

.............. dont worry, she doesn't visit my blog hehe. I thought this image was just perfect for her and I kept it simple. I have not added the numbers 7 or 0 - I didn't think it would suit the card (I have put it inside). I do have several cards to make - 1 for my little princess who'll be 6 next week, one for my son who's 19 in 2 weeks and also one for my gran who'll be 90. I think something special for her but need to find a suitable image first.

Snowball

Good morning all.

Well, things are finally getting back to normal here. Ben went back to University on Saturday (I am gonna miss him so much) and I spent the weekend getting the house under control and a lot of washing done. Not exactly my idea of fun but it's gotta be done. So it's back to the usual routine again for a while. Ben will be back end of January after his exams but only for a short while.

I am hoping to go home to Denmark at Easter. My mum will be 70 in February and my gran will be 90 in March. My gran is luckily still here although my mum says that it's going downhill day by day. I think she's tired and has lost the will now that she's no longer living in her house and has lost the ability to do things herself. But I call her and we have a little chat. She sounds soooooo old.

Right, I did manage to make a very CAS card this week-end .......

Winter Wonderland - Dilly Beans Challenge

Good morning all.

Well, the wind has finally disappeared and the sun is shining again. Not sure how long it will last - this has definately been a funny winter here in the UK.

Phoebe has a great time at the theater yesterday. Apparently the actors (dressed as giants) come out amongst the audience and "bit" the children. She told me she had been "biten" at least 2 millions times and would I like to see the scars lol. I think she was a tiny bit scared but otherwise loved it.

Talking about the weather, this week's challenge at DILLY BEANS CHALLENGE is Winter Wonderland .................

................. I created a little winter scene using 3 digis from Silly Dilly Beans Stamps. Please pop over to the challenge blog and see what the other talented DT ladies have made for your inspiration. And why not join in the challenge to win one of Megan's super images.

Thank you for dropping by and have a wonderful day. Hugs, Mette

Hello

I know this is my second post of the day and I don't usually post that often lol. But I wanted to share this little card I made for a friend who is feeling a little sad at the moment. I really hope it might cheer her up eventho it is rather simple - what do you think?

................ I have used a wonderful heart frame by the talented Megan Suarez and her images can be found HERE. The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set and I did a little heat embossing. I will enter this card into the LESS IS MORE challenge.

Thank you for dropping by AGAIN and enjoy the day. Hugs, Mette

Wren - Grow a little love

Good morning all.

Whoa - another wild night and yes, I mean the weather again hehe. I am surprised that England didn't end up somewhere in Russia with the strong winds we had. The river running thro this village looks fit to burst which will not be good for the people living right next to it. Luckily they have promised it will get better during the day so we can hope.
I took Phoebe down to the local pub carpark this morning. As the school is up the hill on a narrow road it's impossible for buses to pick up the kids. They are all going to the Theater in Derby to watch BFG - Big Friendly Giant by Roald Dahl. She's so looking forward to it.

Right, on with todat's card ...............

Lizzie with present

Good morning all.

Whoa - that was some wild night!! I mean outside with the wind and rain hehe. Found it hard to sleep and Ben said he couldn't go to sleep. Still windy but we are having a little sunshine at the moment.

Tomorrow the kids are back at school and Ben goes back to Uni on Saturday and we are back to our normal routine. My little princess will be 6 on January, 19th so have to book her a small party for her friends at school. Ben will be 19 a week later - all this right after christmas lol. It takes the rest of the year to recover hehe.

I have had this little girl sitting on my desk for a while now ..................

.......... so thought it might be a good idea to colour her and make a little card. She was a free image (not sure if she is anymore) but with all the christmas cards she kinda got forgotten :(. Teamed her up with a few little embellishments to make it a pretty card.

Baby snuggles Kayla

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you all had a great entrance into 2012 - I was watching TV with Phoebe and James so it was very quiet.

I have not made any resolutions as they never seem to be kept but I am going to change a few things once I can. One or two of them will be life changing (hoping to go back to University in September if everything works out) and I am not going to let myself be bullied any longer by a few persons in my life (I am a huge softy lol). Apart from that I will continue to enjoy my craft, to be the best mother I can be to my children and just be myself :).

So, it's the beginning of a new year and what better way to do that than with this .........
