Sisters

Good evening all.

This is going to be a quick post. Had to take James to the emergency doctor this morning as he has nasty blisters and rash on his feet (he didn't think to tell his mum before) and it was becoming very painful. It's either and infection or a syndrom of some kind. Won't know until the pencillin is working. However, he also has a high blood-pressure (at 15) which is quiet worrying. Have to get him back to the doctor's in a week for check-up.
Phoebe went to a party this morning but she's now feeling poorly with a temperature so it's all areas go mummy here lol.

Just wanted to share this card which I made for the COLOUR Q challenge ..........

.............. I am sure there is no question as to why I choose this challenge - love those colours lol. I used a super image I won from By Lori Design and this card is being sent to my sister who I miss a lot. Hope you like it.

Paul Texting

Good morning all.

Hope you are having a great day and keeping healthy. Looks like we will be having some sun here today, yesterday it rained non-stop all day and we were forced to stay in-doors.
My bathroom is looking more and more like a battlefield everytime the workmen have been but hopefully it will be worth the hassle. Having a shower in the morning is an achievement in itself as we are not allowed to splash - acrobats beware!!!! lol

I recently won a challenge with Scrapbooker's paradise and was asked if I wanted to participate in this week's challenge. I didn't have to think too long before saying yes so why don't you pop over and play along - it might be you next week.

Been having a lazy day apart from baking some bread (which my son has almost eaten hehe), been to the park with Phoebe and I am gonna go do a little colouring soon. Just wanted to share with you my card for the SUGAR BOWL CHALLENGE .......

a little birdie

Evening all.

As promised I am back with something totally different. However, I am having a really HUGE emergency here. It has almost reached near panic ............. the reason? One of my most used promarkers have run out of juice. It's one I use all the time for skin so I might have to use other colouring methods until my replacement pen arrives. Here I was happily colouring away and BAM!!! No more :( for the time being.

Anyway, here is what I wanted to share with you .................

........... this is a card I made for CAS-ual FRIDAY and CLEAN & SIMPLE challenges. For this I have actually used my Prisma pencils for colouring as I wanted a softer feel. Again a lot of white (yup, totally not scared anymore) and I like this one :).

Rupunzel

Good morning all.

I absolutely hate being rushed of my feet early in the morning. I prefer a nice steady morning with my usual routine. However, this morning I had to go to the doctors and dropped Phoebe of with my friend at 8.15, caught the bus at 8.35 and was in town for 8.45.
My doctor is finally arranging fysio for my foot (about time too). Then he casually said he needed to measure my blood-pressure ............ 160/100 it was. I was pretty relaxed (been sitting 30 min just reading) so it came as a huge surprise. Gotta go back in 2 weeks to have it re-taken - cross-fingers.

Ok, so here is my card for today, it's for the SATURATED CANARY CHALLENGE ......

............ I have not used one of Krista's digital images but one of her stamps instead. This young lady has got so much hair it was really fun to colour. And yes, I know it's a lot of orange in my cards lately but it is autumn and my fave colours are citrus.

Good evening all.

A quick post from me before X-factor kicks off. Phoebe and I will be watching and cheering for them all.
Been a busy'ish day getting some washing done with the sun shining and had a look thro all my gorgeous fabrics. I got some some years back - all stretch from top french fabric manufacturers and want to make Phoebe some clothes. It's all stretch knit so now I really do need my sewing machine fixed.

Today's card is a little bit different but I totally love this image ..........

Cool Kid

Good afternoon all.

This is having to be a real quick post I am afriad. Been rushed of my feet all day and on top of that the news from my bathroom is not good. Going to have to be completely stripped out back to the bare brick in there and the same in my wash-room plus some work outside. But as they say - it cannot be helped so no point in worrying about it :).

Off to pick up Phoebe in a moment. She is going to the school's spooky disco at 6 and we need to dress her up as a ghost. James asked if I was going and when I said yes he replied "No need for you to dress up then Mum" - cheeky beggar lol

Here is my card for today for KENNY K'S KRAFTY GIRLZ CHALLENGE ...........

Fall Willow catching leaves

Hello all.

Well, what a muddle. My bathroom looks like a war-zone. Upon removing the tiles the workmen found that the damp-proof course was failing and the walls are soaked. So all the plaster has to be taken off, a new damp-proof course injected before they can even begin re-tiling and putting in my new bath-tub. A good job we have a week's holiday coming.
I have had a new roof put on my shed and the handyman has helped me with some drilling (and yes, I know is sounds very wrong lol). He has put up all the nice things in Phoebe's bedroom (I am useless with a drill) - she'll be really pleased when she get's home from school.

I have done quiet a few things around the house which I have been putting off so I feel pretty good today. Phoned my mum earlier and my gran will be going to a recreation home as soon as her pneumonia is gone. She seems strong and in fairly good health but can't be asked to do anything - doesn't even want to get up. Hopefully that will change once she get's to the home.

So for today's card I have made this for FRIDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE .........

................ I have used yet another neglected stamp - as a matter of fact I don't think I have ever inked her up :(. I don't often follow sketch challenges as some of them can be too "fuzzy" for my taste but this one is nice and simple. Elisabeth Bell's images are so sweet and full of innocence.

70's Kayla

Good morning all.

Yup - it's pretty chilly here again and I might have to put the heating on soon. Since the roof had a think layer of insulation last year the rooms upstairs are not freezing and generally feel a little warm after a sunny day. Downstairs however is a different matter. This is an old house and we can't get cavity insulation. But I do have a wood-burner which manages to warm downstairs apart from the bathroom. Let me tell you the seat is very cold in the middle of the night lol.
Talking of bathroom - today I am having a new bath put in and re-tiled. There is a small crack in the old one so it has to be changed. Finally going to be able to have a nice warm bath with candles, a glass of wine?? no, I am tea-total so will be a hot tea for me and a good book.

Here is my card for today which is for SOME ODD GIRL'S challenge ...........

Little Umbrella

Good morning all.

Still brrrrr - getting colder here. Not sure what I expected since we are in the middle of October lol. Would love a house somewhere hot like Australia where I can spend the winter months but finances don't quiet stretch to that hehe.

I managed to get the doctor out to have a look at James yesterday. I don't have a car anymore and there is no way your can take a sick teenager on public transport. He thought that it was a bad flu virus which can also cause sickness. His advice was - plenty of rest, fluids and paracetamol. James' school e-mailed me with things he could get on with while he's home. This is an important year as at the end he will have a lot of exams for GCSE and although he's a bright kid and got extremely good grades last year he can't afford to miss too much.

Right, today's card doesn't have an image from the Lonely Stamps Club and this is one of my favorite images EVA made for LESS IS MORE .....................

................... this is the gorgeous Little Umbrella from Mo Manning. The challenge at Mo's this week is Inspired by a song and the other night while watching the Friends episode where Ross sings to his baby daughter "I like big *censored*" I instantly thought of this image lol. James thought it would go well with Queen's "Fat buttom girls". And guess what - I am not scared of white spaces anymore :).

Eden

Good morning all.

Brrrrrrrrr - it's getting colder, damp and grey. Feeling much better but I still have James home. He was sick (again) this morning so I have asked the doctor to have a look at him. It's definately not a bug as they don't last for days. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

Spent yesterday just pottering around as I was feeling sorry for myself with the flu (well, someone has to lol) and decided to look through my stamps. I don't know about you but I have several stamps that I bought cos I absolutely loved them and then only used once for a card before storing them away in my stamp boxes. And there they sit, forgotten, unloved and gathering wool. So I have decided it's time to get rid of the ones I will NEVER use again (not an easy task as I am constantly going - "hm, I might use it again" knowing full well I won't) and use the stamps I am keeping more - maybe even cut down on buying stamps - nahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! And that's just my rubber - dread to have a look thro my digi files.

So for today I have used one of the neglected stamps for the 1st QUIXOTIC SKETCH CHALLENGE ..............

........... And I have used this adorable stamp from Belles'n'Whistles designed by the talented Elisabeth Bell. How this end up in the Lonely Stamps Club I have no idea but she's not going back hehe. Teamed her up with some lovely papers and it makes a super card for a toddler :).

Good morning all

It really is starting to get colder but I love it when the sun is shining too - it really gives meaning to the saying "A brand new day". Still feeling rotten andnot sleeping well due to a sore throat but not a lot you can do about a flu lol.

My mum is finally back home after camping for 2 weeks. I thought she had been camping around Denmark but turns out they went to France. She has a very good friend who lives there and I think they had a lovely time.
I also got an update on my gran and it's not looking too good. She's slowly going downhill every day and is back in hospital. All she does is sleep, she has no appetit and seems to be losing the will. We are hoping she can go into a nursing home and that may cheer her up a little. So I am debating whether to go home or not to see her - on one hand I want to go and give her a massive hug and tell her how much I care about her, on the other I want to remember her as she was 2 years ago when I last saw her. There is also the financial side to consider but my mum would take care of that.

Ok, enough of my ramblings. This is for KRAFTIN' KIMMIE CHALLENGE ............

.................. who claim that this week's challenge is easy - "use your favorite KKS stamp. Are you joking?! Extremely HARD picking a favorite but I finally narrowed it down to Drucilla. Chubby Chum

Good morning all.

There is nothing quiet like a flu to announce that autumn/winter is finally here. Yes, I have now got my first flu of the season - it's not quite in full forve yet but I definately feel rough. Not a lot you can do about that apart from drink a lot of fluid, stay warm and take a few painkillers. I am pretty sure I got it of James who has been poorly most of the week.

Made a call home to Denmark yesterday. I wanted to catch up with my dad's wife as she has been in terrible pain for a very long time and doctors couldn't really work out what was wrong with her. Turns out she has a rare condition called Lupus where the immune systems attacks healthy tissue and cells. Not nice but at least now she can get medication and hopefully get better.

Well, enough doom and gloom. I wanted to share a card I made for ..........

........ using this fabulous photo as inspiration .........

........ and this is what I made ..........

........... you may ask how this fits in with the inspiration photo - well, I love the shape of those tomatoes and I thought of a lot of little owls huddled up together to keep warm in winter. I did try a lot more owls but it got too confusing lol. The colours are wonderful and I used a little wooly embroidery thread for texture.
This is one of my favorite stamp sets - I adore the little animals (my daughter wants zoo ones lol).

Kisses

Good evening all.

I know it's a little late for me to be posting but been a busy day. Went into town today to do my weekly shop. Luckily the shop delivers so I don't have to carry all those bags on the bus home.

I am going to have to book an appointment with my doctor again. Since June I have had a pain in my heel which gets really bad after a walk. If I sit down and rest I can hardly put any weight on my heel it's so painful. Last time I went he thought I had pulled a tendend and recommended rest and Ibuprofen. But it has not helped. So I think I need som fysio to try and resolve this. (A new foot might be preferred but they are in short supply hehe).

Well, here is my card for today .....................

................. I sincerely hope I am in time with this for MO'S CHALLENGE. This sweet little girl has been sitting on my desk for a week now begging to be coloured and I finally did it. Matched it up with a little patchwork. Isn't she fabulous!? I absolutely love her.

Thankful

Good morning all.

Well, woke up to dull, dark and wet weather. Autumn has finally arrived with a vengance lol. I hate mornings like that - I prefer waking up to sun and then the rain comes later. The sun always put me in a good mood.

Did my usual "guided reading" at school this morning. It's fun to help out and provide a little extra something for the youngest children at school to help them with reading and maths. It is only a small village school with about 80 pupils so it's nice for the kids. The big shock comes after year 6 (11 years old) when they go to secondary school and there are about 1000 pupils lol.

So my card for today is very appropriate to fall ................

Phoebe wanted to do some stamping this week-end with all my stamps and inkpads. A right mess but we did have a lot of fun. She made a little card for a friend and I decided to make this .............

Lil Pinkette Hope

Good morning all.

Well, autumn is definately here with wind and rain but it's still feeling warm - to me anyways lol. Hope you all had a super week-end, mine was very quiet and peaceful. Got my cleaning done and spent time with Phoebe doing thing SHE wanted to do. It's nice to take time out from the daily routine and do her wishes with regards to food she loves, games she likes to play however childish they may seem and watch disney princess movies hehe.

My card for today is made for a special cause. Most of us have been effected by cancer one way or another. I thought I had escaped until this summer when it turns out my grandma (mormor in danish) has a tumor the size of a small soccerball in the uterus (15 cm in diameter). The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I will be joining in with

www.touchedbyabutterfly.blogspot.com

I confess that I "squish" at least once a month and I did find a tiny pea-size lump a few years ago. Luckily it turned out to be a blocked hairdot that had become infected but the agony I went through before seeing the doctor is indescribbable.

I have used an image from Tickled Pink Stamps. Lil Pinkette Hope is available for $1.00 and ALL the process is donated to Beast Cancer Research. You can find her HERE together with others. I will also be entering this into the TICKLED PINK CHALLENGE.

Good morning all.

Whoa - what a thunderstorm we had here yesterday evening. Loud and bright and the heaven opened to throw 1 months worth of rain on us lol. Was quiet amazing to watch but I only say this cos we haven't had a lot of rain for quite some time. At least the sun has decided to come out this morning which is excellent when having to walk kids to school :). I could actually just buy a catapult and throw her to school - we live pretty close hehe.

Well, with my card today I am adding another christmas card to my pile ............

Good afternoon all.

Sorry this is going to be a quick post but I have Phoebe at home with a temperature and terrible cough. She get's astmatic so it is sometimes a little scary listening to her struggling for breath. Hopefully it'll be over by tomorrow as she is a little bored and misses her friends.

Yesterday we went to the local church for the school's harvest festival concert. I really enjoyed it and I think she did too.

Well anyways, on to today's card ..............

.............. not to sure about the colours and I think it needs something - buttons perhaps. Made this for the challenge at Mo's "Furry Friends". Good morning all.

Well, it's monday again and I don't know about you but time is FLYING. I can't believe we are in October already and christmas is just around the corner AGAIN.

I had Ben home this weekend and naturally I spoiled him. Especilly since he stated that he had missed me - yes, my cooking, washing and all-round maid hehe. It was great to see him again and re-assuring myself that he's doing fine on his own. It's a mummy-thing I think, always worrying about our kids.

Didn't get a lot of crafting done but managed to mix together this ..........

.......... isn't this a fabulous image. It was from one of Simply Betty's group and I think she's gorgeous. Put her together with some paper I had from a while back and coloured with Promarkers. Was a little scared about using the green for her skin but turned out ok I think.

Good morning all.

Well, it's October but it sure feels like July. The weather is glorious but the funny thing is they are promising us snow in about 2 weeks time lol. From one extreme to another. I am totally confused!!!!

Ben came home last night. Hasn't changed a bit (well, he has only been gone for 3 weeks) and no, he didn't bring back a load of washing - just a hungry stomach. But it was so nice to see him again and making sure he's ok. I can spoil him for a few days before he goes back.

Anyways, this is the reason for posting here ...............

.................... isn't she just fabulous?! I love Krista's images, the huge eyes and they are such fun to colour. I made this card for the 1st SATURATED CANARY CHALLENGE - a super sketch with optional theme Halloween. I hope it's ok I have turned the sketch a little.
