Back to School

Good morning all.

What is up with the weather - it's 27 which would make this summer but according to my daughter it's autumn lol. Not that I am complaining but don't get much done when I'd rather be outside in to sun. Storing it up for winter in tiny jars hehe.

So I just popped inside to show you a card I made for one of Phoebe's little friends who started school a few weeks ago and hasn't quiet settled in yet - hope it'll cheer her up .....................

Lollipop Girl

Good afternoon all.

We are in the middle of an Indian Summer here. It's lovely sunny and warm and feels more like June/July than the end of September. But I am NOT complaining - it's gorgeous and hope it'll last a little longer. A sunny day makes everyone feel happier and more awake lol.

I did manage to make this card yesterday evening .............

I have been seeing them around but not really felt confident enough to try one but then I decided to give it a go and guess what ............ Phoebe and I made a dew. So simple to make yet a huge hit with her friends at school this morning. So it will not be the last one I can assure you ... a little idea has been forming inside my otherwise crowded mind hehe.

Thanks!!

Good afternoon all.

Hope you are all enjoying this monday eventhough the weather is not sure what it wants today.
Yesterday Phoebe and I went to a Wildlife Park/butterfly House - she had been invited to a birthday party and parents were very much welcomed. She loved it and was facinated by the Birds of Prey, exotic creatures (snakes, butterflies etc etc). There were farm animals to feed and pet so all in all - the kids had a lovely time, as did the adults.

So I wanted to show this card I made for a dear friend who has been a great help lately by lending an ear or two ....................

........... I used the inspiration photo at Paper Smooches and one of their sweet little free images. The pattern paper is "ruffled" and I am loving these colours.

Adorable Baby Girl

Good morning all.

And it's Saturday. Sun is too sure whether it wants to play hide and seek but doesn't really matter - Phoebe and I are gonna have a super time today. James has gone to his Saturday job so we will be baking, cleaning, playing "very strange 5 year old"-games which will involve Phoebe's school, dancing, singing etc. And I am looking through my stamp collection to find "neglected and in need of a new and loving home" stamp for ebay.

But before I get to all the fun just wanted to show this ...............

........... which I put together this morning while the idea was in my head (if I waited till later I'd have lost it hehe). Used a little sketch from CLEAN & SIMPLE CHALLENGE and combined it with ALLSORTS CHALLENGE "Clean and simple". There are a lot of expectant ladies around at the moment so I will need a few of these. Hope you enjoy.

Virginia

Good morning all.

Just real quick today as I am rushed of my feet to show this card .............

......... I used the sketch over at CUTE CARD CHALLENGE and the theme "Xmas in September" at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE. I am not too happy with this card (too much green) but as I need a fair amount of christmas cards it'll have to do. Used this adorable stamp from Kraftin Kimmie and did some paper piecing which I love doing. Used Promarkers for the rest.

Good morning all.

Just a quick note here from me as I am up to my ears in poorly kids - 2 of them to be exact. You know the illness ............. temperature, sniffles, coughs, bad tempers etc etc. So there is absolutely no peace for the good samaritan hehe.

Just thought I wanted to share this ................

Cherry Kisses Skating

Good morning all.

Yiipiii - the sun is shining again. Been wet and cold here and not at all nice.

My gran will be back home in her house on Thursday. Naturally there had to be a lot of safety nets put in place - someone will come and give her her medicin morning, midday and evening, she'll have a hot meals delivered etc etc but she's a lot better :). The tumor is still there but is not causing too much trouble (it's not aggresive) but is will effect her and keep growing. I am just happy she's doing well and able to go home.

And Ben's coming home next week - been very empty here without him but he is having a super time and his gf has finally moved up to Sheffield too. His lectures start next week and then he can get into a routine.

So all in all I am a lot happier :). Just wanted to share another christmas card with you all ...................

............. this one for POLLYCRAFT CHALLENGE "Swirls and pearls". I sure hope that the embossed swirls qualify. I love this card but don't think the bow underneath the image is very good :(. Might have to change that. I know that black is not a traditional christmas colour but this seems to work.

Beary Big Hugs

Good morning all.

Saturday again and it seems time is flying by. Spoke to Ben yesterday for the first time since he moved and he sounded a little down but was doing ok - I think he is missing mum's cooking lol. He'll perk up cos his gf is moving up there today and he starts Fresher's Week on Monday.
And my gran is doing much better and said she wants to go back home (she's currently in a nursing home to get her strength back). She told my mum she's had enough sitting talking to oldies all day - lol, my gran is the oldest there at 89. She only worries about getting poorly on her own and pass out so she's being fitted with a "panic bracelet". But I am so pleased she's doing better.

This morning Phoebe and I will be going to the local church for a "Introduction to Crafts" coffee morning. Would you believe they don't have papercrafting on there - I feel I have to go and educate them a little lol. I live in a small village and there are a lot of elderly ladies here who benefit from the social networking the churches here provide. A weekly papercrafting session would be ideal I think - will get me out of the house too. Right, enough random ramblings from me, here is today's card......

Pergamano Fairy

Good morning all.

Well, it's starting to get rather chilly here in the beautiful derbyshire Dales so it's time to dig out the winter woolies. I am not sure if that's the reason why I am feeling very sad and unhappy at the moment or whether it's a build-up of a lot of stress and upsets over the last 10 years. I am definately feeling very home-sick and just wanna pack my bags and go home. Which I can't as my kids are settled here and it would not be fair on them. So yesterday was a totally wet one - literally lol. Have put a smile on my face and the sun is shining so I put yesterday behing me (kinda).

I decided to make this lovely card to show you ................

.............. I have so many stamps I have never used and it's about time they were allowed out of the boxes lol. This fairy, along with her 2 friends, were bought over a year ago - how bad am I never to have inked her up. She has been coloured with Promarkers.

Good morning all.

Hope everyone is doing fine. Not a lot going on here but I usually help school twice a week for 30 min helping reception and Year 1 with reading and maths. It's fun and get a great feeling of being useful lol.

So onto today's card .................

..... another one for the christmas pile. This is for the challenge at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE and they wanted you to use an older stamp. I believe Clara is from their first christmas release - isn't she super. Again I have kept the design real simple.

Little Star

Good morning all.

Another fabby day with sun and wind. Super day for washing clothes but guess what ..... I am up to date lol.
Went and got myself a breadmaking machine yesterday. Now comes the tricky part - figuring out how this thing works and daring to make the first bread. I am not one of the brave when it comes to technology - even the hoover scares me :).

Got a leaflet in the post today from a company offering to deliver a box of fresh veg and fruit every week. There are different sizes depending on your family size and I am trying to work out whether it will be cost effective. Maybe I shall try and get "this week's box" at the local supermarket and then see. The good thing is I would be supporting local farmers (apart from bananas hehe) and I know the food is fresh. Anyone else doing something similar???

Right then, I don't make a lot of baby cards (have never made a wedding card - shock horror) but I wanted to use this little guy ..............

........ I think he's just so cute. I won him/her a while back at Pollycraft but have never used it. Kept it simple as the little guy speaks for himself really. Hope you like.

hey Chickie

Well, it's monday again - time flies so fast I can't keep up lol.

Yesterday was spent quietly with Phoebe and James. We just potted around and made home-made bread. Nothing better than freshly baked bread but it does take a while. So I have decided to invest in a bread machine although I am not sure if it taste the same as handmade.

Made a few cards so that I could show you this ......

....... I am sure I have said this before but I absolutely LOVE this stamp set from PaperSmooches. They are just the cutest little animals and perfect for any age. This is just a simple 1-layer card made for LESS IS MORE (Seeing double) and WEE MEMORIES (1-layer). Coloured with Promarkers and I have made a little "frame" around the image.

Video Boy

Good afternoon all.

It's done. My son left this morning around 10AM in his dad's car and drove towards his new and independent life. Did I cry??? You bet I did! I felt such a fool lol and I am remembering all the times my mum cried when I left (to Switzerland, USA and England). He called me a while ago - settled into halls and sharing a flat with 4 other students (each have their own room but share kitchen and lounge). He sounded fine hehe.

Well, it's blowing a gale here but at least it's dry so I have been washing and washing and washing and crafting so I have this to show you today ......

..... you can never have too many teenage cards. Used one of Mo Manning's fabulous illustrations and a little sketch from Clean and Simple. I did find that the card cardstock was missing something so I wrote various Xbox games on it. Had to ask my son James as I do not have a clue. I think it works rather well here :). Promarkers for colouring and I have cut out the image (something I really love at the moment). The card has been decorated inside. This card will be entered into the DP2 Challenge

Argus

Good morning all.

What an awful day we are having (yup - I am still talking about the weather lol). Heavy rain, blustery wind and it's cold. Just the right kinda weather for the kids going back to school. Phoebe did hold on to my hand very tight this morning but guess what....... no tears. I am so proud of her.

Ben and James are still home - James goes back tomorrow, his last GCSE year and Ben leaves on Saturday to start his independent life as a student. So it might be time for me to look for a part-time job - just to get me out of the house a little.

Today's card is for a brand new challenge and I thought it might be fun to play along. Firstly because I love the colour combo and secondly because an idea sprang into my head the minute I saw the challenge. Don't worry, it's just a temporary glitch, my brain isn't usually this fast lol.

Christmas Pixie

Good morning all.

My last day having Phoebe home - she starts school again tomorrow and I think she's getting a little excited.

We went to Nottingham on Saturday and got her school shoes. We meet up with her dad (yes, we don't live together but remain friends) and had a nice day in Town Square. Nottingham turns it into a beach scene complete with sand, water and a fairground. Phoebe loved it but had a tantrum when we didn't manage to win a HUGE Minnie Mouse in "Hook a Duck". Rather comical if your not in the middle of the tantram lol. Spent yesterday chilling.

Today we are making Blackberry Jam and baking bread. Gonna be messy but well worth it once we eat fresh bread with home-made jam - mmmmmmm.

So - today I am showing this tag I made yesterday. I found some fabulous kraft and white tags in Nottingham. There are 20 (10 big and 10 small) in a pack for just £1.00. They are produced by Papermania "Bare basic" range and also got 5 paper bags for decorating. I love making my own christmas tags - makes the present so much more personal.

Geisha

Good morning all.

Another sunny day - yes, we are definately past summer and into September. Wasn't yesterday lovely and today promises to be just as nice. I do wonder why I feel the need to mention the weather every day - I think it's a british tradition I picked up somewhere - the british do enjoy a good chat about the weather or lack of it hehe.

Almost set for the kids going back to school. Phoebe has been furnished with a wardrobe full of new uniform clothes although we are still missing the shoes. Will go to Notthingham tomorrow to get those I think. As for James - well, they don't wear a uniform at his secondary school and at 15 he likes to look "kool man". Still need to get his writing equipment which, by his usual standard, will be gone after just 2 weeks back.
Ben has been furnished with everything a young man needs for a life as a student from bedding to kitchen utensils. Just need to get his toiletries and to talk him gently thru the process of "washing your own clothes".

I have been without my phone for a few days which can be a blessing but at the moment I really need to be able to contact home whenever I feel I need a granny-update. At first I thought it was my phone so went an purchased a new - but no, it's a fault on the line so am waiting for BT to sort that for me asap.

Well, onto today's card which has been inspired by this wonderful summery image - mmmmm, strawberry and cream.

This is for ATS WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE

I used the sweet geisha girl which is available as a digi from All that Scrap - actually you get 2 geishas and think they are just lovely. She's coloured with Promarkers and I kept the card fairly simple.

Bee Happy

Good morning all.

Finally the sun is shining again - August has been dull, cool and not very nice. So it's nice to see the sun again but hey - this is Autumn after all hehe.

Went to see the doctor yesterday about my foot and turns out that I might have damaged a ligament a few months ago while walking in the beautiful countryside around here. Been ordered to relax, not to do a lot of walking and hope it get's better soon.
Not had any news about my gran (I am phone-less atm - my phone is dead and I need to get a new one). My mum did e-mail to let me know that a CT scan didn't find that the tumor had spread. She's still in hospital so I am just waiting ..... and waiting .... and - you get the drift lol.

I am totally hooked on the fabulous stamps from Paper Smooches and yet again you have a chance to become a guest designer for a month (October). So I made this little card using a free image and sentiment to cheer myself up and I love it hehe. These bees are just so much fun to colour and you can really go to town with them. I put a little glitter on their wings to make them shimmer.
You should go over and join in, pick up a free digi stamp and have a look at the stamp sets available. They can be bought in the UK from Make the Day Special.

Thank you for visiting my little cloud and enjoy your day. Hugs, Mette
