TUESDAY SHOWCASE ......... Eden

Good morning all.

FINALLY starting to feel a little human again and this nasty flu I had is moving on. I hate feeling weak and achy everywhere but unfortunately nothing we can do about flus atm. And of course it helps that the weather here in the UK has turned very summery with blue skies and sun.

Yesterday was James' 16th birthday. My son is turning into a young man and it's very hard telling him off when you have to look UP lol. All he does is say "Ok mum" and do his own thing anyways. Ben also came home yesterday, only for a day or two, but it's nice to see him again. Soon he'll be here full-time until University starts again and by then I might sing a different tune.

Naturally I haven't been feeling like crafting a lot but I did do a bit, and I have reached the letter B in my catalogue and using my neglected stamps. So here is Tuesday's Showcase .............

........... featuring Eden. She's just such a sweet little girl from Belles'n Whistles (designed by the talented Elisabeth Bell). I believe I have used her once before but sadly she's just been gathering dust. A shame really as she's perfect for a new baby girl or 1st birthday card. Hope you like her.

Materials used: Eden by Belles'n Whistles - Make it Crafty blending cardstock for stamping - cardstock (yellow and kraft) - Jillibean dp - ribbon

Challenges

Bunny Zoe's challenge - Anything goes

Eden

Good morning all.

Brrrrrrrrr - it's getting colder, damp and grey. Feeling much better but I still have James home. He was sick (again) this morning so I have asked the doctor to have a look at him. It's definately not a bug as they don't last for days. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

Spent yesterday just pottering around as I was feeling sorry for myself with the flu (well, someone has to lol) and decided to look through my stamps. I don't know about you but I have several stamps that I bought cos I absolutely loved them and then only used once for a card before storing them away in my stamp boxes. And there they sit, forgotten, unloved and gathering wool. So I have decided it's time to get rid of the ones I will NEVER use again (not an easy task as I am constantly going - "hm, I might use it again" knowing full well I won't) and use the stamps I am keeping more - maybe even cut down on buying stamps - nahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! And that's just my rubber - dread to have a look thro my digi files.

So for today I have used one of the neglected stamps for the 1st QUIXOTIC SKETCH CHALLENGE ..............

........... And I have used this adorable stamp from Belles'n'Whistles designed by the talented Elisabeth Bell. How this end up in the Lonely Stamps Club I have no idea but she's not going back hehe. Teamed her up with some lovely papers and it makes a super card for a toddler :).

MATERIALS USED

Eden from Belles'n'Whistles
Basic Grey "Kioshi" papers
Ribbon
Sentiment from Hero Arts "Adorable Baby Girl"

OTHER CHALLENGES

B'n'W Challenge - Use a favortite image (all my stamps are my favorites)
Stamptacular Sunday - You Choose

Beary Big Hugs

Good morning all.

Saturday again and it seems time is flying by. Spoke to Ben yesterday for the first time since he moved and he sounded a little down but was doing ok - I think he is missing mum's cooking lol. He'll perk up cos his gf is moving up there today and he starts Fresher's Week on Monday.
And my gran is doing much better and said she wants to go back home (she's currently in a nursing home to get her strength back). She told my mum she's had enough sitting talking to oldies all day - lol, my gran is the oldest there at 89. She only worries about getting poorly on her own and pass out so she's being fitted with a "panic bracelet". But I am so pleased she's doing better.

This morning Phoebe and I will be going to the local church for a "Introduction to Crafts" coffee morning. Would you believe they don't have papercrafting on there - I feel I have to go and educate them a little lol. I live in a small village and there are a lot of elderly ladies here who benefit from the social networking the churches here provide. A weekly papercrafting session would be ideal I think - will get me out of the house too. Right, enough random ramblings from me, here is today's card......

......... for the challenge at PASSION FOR PROMARKERS. Since it's all about bears I have used one of my all time favorite stamps and naturally coloured her with Promarkers.

MATERIALS USED

Beary Big Hugs from Belles & Whistles
Cardstock
Papermania Bare Basic Tag
Ribbon

Thank you for visiting me and hope you have a lovely day. Hugs, Mette

100% Huggable

Good afternoon Friday.
Hope you're all doing fine. Been really busy these last few days and it doesn't help that Phoebe has caught a bad cold. Unfortunately she suffers from really bad asthma when she gets a cold so have to take her to the doctor later as she is struggling to breath. It's rather upsetting. Well, the nice weather didn't last long - thunder and lighting here yesterday evening and I did worry (just a little) if my car would be swept down the hill with all that rain hehe.

Anyways, onto my card for today. I have used one of my absolute favorite stamps "Beary Big Hugs" from Belles'n'Whistles. I wanted this stamp for a long time before she was back on stock. I made this card for the Belles'n'Whistle challenge which simply asked that you do a CAS card (Clean and simple). Hope you like this .

Quixotic challenge - Make a miniature

Good morning on a rather dull monday morning. I certainly hope it's not an indication of the weather to come now that the kids have broken up from school - 6 weeks with bad weather is not what we want.
Anyways, I was not sure whether to play along with this weeks challenge at Quixotic - miniature cards seemed a lot harder than my usual 6 x 6. But boy did I love making them and they would be great fot my little girl as invitations, thank you cards etc, etc. And they are a great way to use up all the small paper scraps we all horde.
The 2 stamps used here are Belles'n'Whistles "Little Eden" and "Clowning Around". They have been coloured with Prisma pencils and I have used papers and embellishment from stash.
I really has fun making them and hope you enjoy them too.

Thank you for dropping by and hope you have a great day, Mette

Bunny Zoe's Challenge and Belles'n'whistles challenge

What a Saturday Morning!! Been up since 6 am when Phoebe woke up crying. Her plaster was removed on Thursday and she still won't use her arm cos she's worried it'll hurt. Naturally it's feeling a little funny after being immobile for 2 weeks - well she's only 4. Then I had a complete blond moment downloading a new digi stamp I bought. Luckily they were really nice sending me a replacement :)). Then had to pick son of from Cromford train station (close to Matlock). He has been walking and camping since Thursday for his trail run for Duke of Edinburgh's silver. He is now fast asleep after some proper food and a hot shower.
Now I have 5 min peace before the dreaded weekly food shop and this card I am entering into Bunny Zoe's monthly challenge "nice and girly" and Belles'n'Whistles challenge "Buttons and Bows". I absolutely love this image "Beary Big Hugs". As usual I have used my Prisma colours and she has been matted and layered with paper from stash. The buttons and ribbons I usually get from the local friday market.
I hope you like it.

Thank you for dropping by and have a lovely day, Mette

Roses on paper #36

When I first saw this image I knew I had to have it. It's just so lovely. Unfortunately it's taken some time as it has been sold out for a while. But it's finally in my stamp collection. And of course I had to use it straight away for a challenge.
I chose Roses on Paper challenge which is a lovely sketch. The image has been coloured with Prisma pencils and blender.
